Everyone is at risk from stroke and there are at least 150,000 people disabled by it at any one time. It is the UK's third highest killer disease.
The Bedford Ouse Valley Stroke Club is a support group for stroke people, their carers and relatives. It is affilliated to the Stroke Association.
The Club meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at Tavistock Court, Queen Street, Bedford from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
A wide ranging programme of events is arranged by the members' committee. There are social events, trips to theatre, visiting speakers on varying topics which may be related to strokes, or on other subjects such as crafts and hobbies.
Transport can often be arranged if it is a problem. Many of the outings are subsidised from fund raising events. All you pay is £1 per meeting to cover refreshment costs, plus an annual membership fee of £10 if you decide to join us (this can be paid in 2 instalments of £5 each).
We have a fairly comprehensive range of leaflets and information available to members and on display during our meetings.
Why not come along and see if we can help you.
